Youth players

Working with kidsI understand that every player develops at their own pace, so I customize each session based on the child’s age, skill level, and learning style. For younger or less experienced players, I focus on building fundamentals, confidence, and enjoyment through fun, engaging drills. For older or more advanced youth, I increase intensity and complexity, introducing game-like scenarios, skill challenges, and performance tracking. I adjust drills, pacing, and coaching cues to keep each player motivated, challenged, and progressing safely. My goal is to ensure every child feels supported, improves their skills, and develops a love for the game while building discipline, teamwork, and confidence.

Working with teenagersI design sessions to meet each teen at their current skill level while pushing them toward higher performance. For developing teens, I emphasize fundamentals, athleticism, and basketball IQ, helping them gain confidence and consistency. For advanced or competitive teens, I incorporate game-like drills, advanced footwork, shooting under pressure, and position-specific skills. I adjust intensity, complexity, and coaching cues to match their maturity and goals, ensuring they are challenged, motivated, and progressing safely. My approach helps teens improve skills, decision-making, and on-court confidence, while fostering discipline, leadership, and a love for the game.

I’m Coach Denzel Jones, founder of Hoop Dynasty, with over 10 years of basketball coaching and player development experience. I’ve coached more than 60 teams and helped numerous athletes earn college scholarships through personalized skill training and discipline. My approach focuses on meeting each player where they are — whether they’re just starting or preparing for high-level competition. I specialize in ball handling, shooting form, footwork, core and leg strength, and game IQ.
