Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is about pitching
techniques. It will be verbal lessons.
I will discuss hitters' positioning and how to go about pitching to a hitter based on his position in the box.
Lesson 11+Positioning on the mound and following through. Leaving yourself in a position to be a fielder.
Lesson 4-10Grip exercises. Younger players should throw 80-90% fastballs and 10-20% other types of pitches. The importance of leg work, particularly running. Power in pitching comes from strong legs.
Lesson 2-3The second lesson will be on the pitching technique. Balance after release and release points.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonKnowledge on how to pitch to hitters. If you have no scouting report learn what and how to pitch to hitters based on their positioning in the batter's box and their batting stance.
Lesson 11+Learn to keep the other team scoreless until your team scores first and then remains in control.
Lesson 4-10Learn to stay unemotional in tough situations.
Lesson 2-3The mind of a pitcher. Learn how to slow down while pitching. Stay ahead of the hitters. Always try to get that first out. it's super important on staying in charge.
Youth players
Working with kidsI'm a teacher and love teaching young kids. Most are like a sponge, and I love that aspect of teaching kids.
Working with teenagersWorking with teenagers is much different. They tend to want to throw a variety of pitches, and that not necessary. It could also be an iss
ue on their young arms. At this age,
they are capable of learning how to be a pitcher. I would love to teach them the skills in becoming a pitcher.
