Ty Schowe’s coaching journey began somewhat by chance, but his competitive drive has shaped it into something much more. After years of private lessons with a top level tennis pro in Colorado, his natural teaching ability led him from a stressful college poker career to becoming a full-time teaching professional under one of the sport’s best mentors. His passion for competition, rooted in childhood hockey and soccer championships, instilled a deep appreciation for precision, discipline, and daily practice—principles he applied to coaching. He transformed youth high-performance programs, built elite junior training systems, and refined strategy and movement for players of all levels. Five years ago, he discovered pickleball and quickly saw the gaps in player development. Even advanced players lacked a true system for training, leaving critical skills like minimizing unforced errors, reading the court, and strengthening the mental game untapped. Now, on a mission to change that—he's bringing a structured, high-performance approach to the sport, helping players realize their full potential, and making winning feel almost unfair. With pickleball evolving, those who train with purpose are rising to the top— so there’s no better time to begin your growth.
"Lessons done today were serving, volley, smash, hitting balls the right way, backhand, forehand, kitchen rules, scoring, & footwork.

Competitive, high-energy pickleball coaching focused on real improvement. I work with players who genuinely want to level up their strategy, shot selection, positioning, consistency, and overall game IQ. Sessions are intense, detail-oriented, and workout-driven — designed to push you mentally and physically while building winning habits on the court.
"Awesome experience overall. Very patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable about strategy and technique. I already feel more confident during games after training with him.

I start by conducting a thorough skills assessment through warm-up rallies and targeted drills to identify strengths (like consistent dinking or powerful drives) and areas for improvement (such as footwork efficiency or shot variety). We discuss their goals, such as tournament preparation or mastering spin, and review key rules nuances like stacking in doubles. Hands-on, we refine grips for advanced shots, practice controlled volleys, and introduce strategy concepts like third-shot drops under pressure. The session ends with a simulated game point to apply insights, plus personalized homework like video self-analysis.

Definitely want to come out comfortable and tennis shoes. I have an extra paddle but you can bring your own if you want.

Students should come prepared with essentials for a safe and enjoyable session. At minimum, wear comfortable athletic clothing (breathable shirts, shorts or pants that allow movement), non-marking court shoes with good lateral support to prevent slips on the hard surface, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated—pickleball can get intense! Sunglasses or a hat are recommended for outdoor play, along with personal sunscreen. If you already own a pickleball paddle and balls, bring them to get personalized feedback, but it’s not required initially since I’ll provide extras. Optionally, a towel, snacks for energy, and any personal protective gear like knee braces if needed. Focus on comfort to maximize learning!

Having extra patience lol I’ll train them just like how I do with adults but with extra grace!

When working with kids, I adapt lessons to be fun, engaging, and age-appropriate. I use shorter, game-like drills (e.g., target hitting with colorful cones or relay races with paddles) to keep their attention, focusing on basic skills like grip and forehand swings. Sessions are kept to 45-60 minutes, with frequent breaks, and I incorporate storytelling (e.g., “become a pickleball superhero!”) to teach rules and strategy. I use smaller courts or adjusted net heights if needed, and provide lightweight paddles and kid-sized balls for easier handling. Positive reinforcement and group activities foster teamwork and confidence.
