As a touring artist, I bring 10 years of professional experience to my guitar instruction. I'm dedicated to helping students of all levels unlock their musical potential. My approach is tailored, ensuring an engaging and effective learning journey.

Music has been my lifelong passion, and for the past 45 years, I've been fortunate enough to share that passion with aspiring guitarists of all levels. As a recording artist, I bring a unique perspective and wealth of experience to each lesson. I attended the Hartford Conservatory of Music where I studied guitar, audio engineering, and record production among many other subjects and have been helping aspiring guitarists attain their specific goals for 3 decades. My lessons are custom tailored to help each student achieve their goals on the instrument and I place the enjoyment of playing above everything else. Becoming a better musician can be a rewarding challenge, and fun along with self actualization are the vehicle through which this journey happens.

I am a professional music instructor/performer and a graduate from Berklee College of Music. I specialize in jazz, fusion, pop, and of course metal. With many years of teaching experience, my primary goal has always been to share my passion for music and inspire students to explore their horizons. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment throughout the lessons. By fostering creativity, encouraging persistence, and celebrating each student’s unique progress, I aim to instill a lifelong appreciation for music in everyone I teach.
"My daughter, Liviay, has been taking guitar lessons with David for about two years and we're so happy with her immense progress ever since. David is a very kind and supportive guitar instructor and we're so grateful for a teacher like him. He's always challenging her and helping her become better in her music skills, technique, knowledge, theory, and performance. Not to mention, we are fascinated by David's incredible guitar mastery, versatility, speed/precision, and passion for the instrument. You just can't find another teacher like him.
Music is my lifelong passion, and for three decades, I've been fortunate to share that passion as a professional musician and dedicated guitar instructor. I've been a professional touring bassist and educator for 20 years. I'm a doubler both electric and upright. I have a B.M. in Music education from VCU in Richmond, VA. (Don't make a joke about your degree being a "BM") If you're still here, I'm also a guitarist and have taught strings and brass. I've taught privately and classroom settings both in-person and remotely. I bring my experiences as a performing artist and educator to guide students of all ages and levels. My lessons are individualized and intended to guide you on your musical journey. Lessons can vary depending on your needs, wants and goals. Always wanted to learn that lick in your favorite song that you just can't quite get? Let's figure it out? Have an audition you need to buckle down for? Buckle up! Hahaha...I kid. Or am I??? Of course. I can't wait to work with you.

Unveil the chapters of my musical journey, commencing with piano melodies at age 5, progressing to the strings of a guitar at 7, and echoing through the brass tones of baritone, tenor, and alto sax in school bands. I've harmonized with diverse bands, from folk to blues, and etched my voice as a singer-songwriter. My musical tapestry extends to healing realms, holding a Music Practitioner Certification for uplifting souls in hospitals and nursing homes. Sharing my passion, I've taught music for years, working alongside my wife, a dedicated piano maestro of two decades. Let's explore the world of music together!
"Today I am writing you about a fellow musician I’ve had the pleasure to listen to, perform with and learn from over many years. His name is Jay Wilson. When I first heard him, he was playing with legendary Dallas band Hung Jury. His guitar playing and vocals were pro and his saxophone solos blew the room away. We became friends and sometimes I'd get a chance to get up and sing one with his band. He has always been inclusive and shared his talent and insights with other musicians. We considered him a Jedi musical master. Jay went on to play with many well known and respected bands. I remember going to see him once while he was playing with 60’s icon Donovan Leitch. It was magical evening. They played Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow and the evening culminated with an extended jam of Season of the Witch. I’m sure it’s still playing somewhere in the universe. From traditional Robert Johnson Style Blues to Stan Getz on the Saxophone to the Talking Heads, Jay traverses any genre with tasteful appreciation. Over the years I’ve never hesitated to call Jay for musical advice, emergency musical first aid or continuing education; and he has never hesitated to help. If you get a chance to sit down with Jay and listen to your favorite album, you should do it. If you or anyone you know has an opportunity to study music of any kind with Jay …. DO IT!

"We are glad to have Pepe teaching guitar. He is not only an incredible musician but also a wonderful person to know. We appreciate his approach to making the lesson fun for our student but also strong in music theory and reinforcing the underlying reason why the music is played the way it is. Highly recommend.
