For over 25 years, I’ve helped golfers of all skill levels—from beginners to current PGA Tour professionals—improve their game and reach their potential. My passion for coaching comes from the life lessons golf teaches: patience, discipline, accountability, and perseverance. I believe great instruction is about more than the golf swing; it’s about building confidence, enjoying the process, and helping each player grow both on and off the course.

I'm Katy, and over the past four summer school seasons, I've taught junior golf group lessons in camp clinics, catering to ages 3-18. Beyond that, I've developed my coaching skills through 1-on-1 instruction, working with individuals ranging from 14 to 55 years old. Back in 2017, I had the privilege of volunteering as a health & wellness advisor for a D1 Women’s Golf Team for a semester. On the competitive front, I've played against some top golfers like LPGA Rookie of the Year Jillian Hollis, Jessica Porvasnik, Clare Legaspi, Cindy Oh, and more. Before diving into our first lesson, I always start with an assessment to understand each player's personality, their mental game approach, and the unique ways in which they learn. From that foundation, our inaugural lesson will focus on observation—watching how you swing or play. After which, we circle back to mastering the fundamentals, complete with personalized drills. You get to decide the lesson's focus, be it putting, chipping, short game, or even a 9-hole playing lesson, all based on your golf aspirations. I believe in nurturing from within first. The ideal player I work with understands that a positive mindset is the foundation for a successful physical game in golf.

I spent over two decades playing and competing at the Mini-Tour level, grinding through the same frustrations that every serious golfer knows — working hard, doing everything you think is right, and still not getting the results you’re after. What eventually changed things wasn’t talent. It was finally understanding why the swing works the way it does. The mechanics, the cause and effect, the things that nobody explained clearly until I dug deep enough to figure them out myself. That took years. A lot of them. That’s exactly why I started coaching. I didn’t want my students to spend years piecing it together on their own. Everything I learned the hard way — I put it straight into the lesson. Over 2,000 lessons in, my approach is built on one thing: giving you a clear, honest picture of your game. I use high-speed camera technology so you can see your own swing on screen and understand exactly what’s happening — no vague feelings, no guesswork. Just real information you can actually work with. I coach in English, Mandarin, and Burmese, and I take pride in making sure every student — regardless of background — walks away with full clarity and real confidence in their next step.
