I'm Katy, and over the past four summer school seasons, I've taught junior golf group lessons in camp clinics, catering to ages 3-18. Beyond that, I've developed my coaching skills through 1-on-1 instruction, working with individuals ranging from 14 to 55 years old. Back in 2017, I had the privilege of volunteering as a health & wellness advisor for a D1 Women’s Golf Team for a semester. On the competitive front, I've played against some top golfers like LPGA Rookie of the Year Jillian Hollis, Jessica Porvasnik, Clare Legaspi, Cindy Oh, and more. Before diving into our first lesson, I always start with an assessment to understand each player's personality, their mental game approach, and the unique ways in which they learn. From that foundation, our inaugural lesson will focus on observation—watching how you swing or play. After which, we circle back to mastering the fundamentals, complete with personalized drills. You get to decide the lesson's focus, be it putting, chipping, short game, or even a 9-hole playing lesson, all based on your golf aspirations. I believe in nurturing from within first. The ideal player I work with understands that a positive mindset is the foundation for a successful physical game in golf.

I spent much of my younger adult life playing golf professionally and attempting to qualify for the PGA tour. I was competing more then teaching but along the way, I learned from some of the best instructors in the country..Ive always loved dissecting the swing and helping others understand what creates improvement. Timothy Galvan has been playing golf for over 30 years. He attended and graduated Hawaii Pacific University on a golf scholarship in 2009. While there, he took on a leadership role as the Head Coach for the University’s men’s team. While attending school Timothy worked for the K’oalau Golf Course as an Assistant Professional. He gained experience in course management and all things operations; K’oalau is also where he began his teaching career. Timothy turned professional after graduating college in 2009 and has competed on tours all over the world. In 2015 Timothy shifted his focus to player development and private coaching. He has focused on cultivating a high-end clientele base and turning weekend golfers into confident athletes. He helps people take their love for golf and become the best golfer that they can be. Timothy is excited to be a part of the Calabasas Country Club team as their Director of Golf Instrucon. He brings with him over a decade of experience and a lifetime of passion, with a hunger to create lasting experiences.
