I am a strength and conditioning coach as well as technical boxing coach. I’ve been a Floridian my entire life until I made the move up to Virginia last Spring with my wife and 3 dogs. I’ve been a certified athletic trainer, high school teacher and tennis coach for the past 20 years. I became a USPTA teaching professional about 10 years ago and have taught kids as young as 5 to adults as old as 65. I’ve coached the Gainesville High School girls tennis team the past 2 years. I believe tennis is truly a sport of a lifetime that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.

My teaching philosophy is that you must have fun. If studying guitar feels like a chore, this won't work. I like to meet students where they are, both overall (what's the music you love!) and how they feel week to week. I've played guitar since I was 14, and I love the instrument not only because it rocks, but also because of its rich history and its standing as an art object. I write guitar-focused journalism for magazines like Premier Guitar & Fretboard Journal.

Hello, I’m Jackie, a native Mandarin teacher in Bethesda, MD. Since 2019 I’ve taught K-12 Chinese, focusing on writing and speaking for students. I hold Chinese teaching and Maryland early childhood certifications. I create customized digital lessons to improve students’ literacy and cultural awareness.

I began playing tennis before I could walk. By age 11 I competed year-round in the Texas Junior Circuit. From age 9 to 13 I was coached by the greats John Wilkerson and Edgar Arnold and was on track to begin competing nationally by age 14. I have competed in tennis, football, and baseball at the collegiate, and professional levels for the majority of my life.

I’ve spent over a decade playing and teaching tennis competitively, and now I’m diving into the world of pickleball. I’m passionate about how inclusive the sport is and love helping players of all levels build their confidence and discover new growth areas on the court.
