A lifelong student of dance, Mel'Keta's foundation includes extensive training in ballet, modern etc. In 2006, she deepened her commitment to Middle Eastern dance (Raqs Sharqi) through intensive study with renowned instructors Zarouhi Otchy and Tashira Awadiya. Her dedication led to train with internationally acclaimed artists, including Elena Lentini-protégés of the legendary Ibrahim Farrah-and the celebrated Ansuya. Her performance/teaching career includes international appearances in the UK+.

"I realize that prior to taking classes with Mel'Keta, I had a completely different idea of what "belly dance" was. I now understand that it is a full body dance and not just the belly. She helps me understand the movement, the Rhythms, and the feeling which created a somatic experience for me.
