I am a National Board Certified teacher and reading specialist with over 22 years of experience helping students become confident readers and writers. I provide personalized instruction in reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and literacy intervention for students with diverse learning needs. My goal is to build skills, confidence, and a love of learning through engaging, research-based instruction tailored to each student's strengths and needs.

My specialty is small-scale/one-on-one Elementary and Conversational Mandarin Chinese (although any level is acceptable). I find it important to work directly work directly with the strengths and weaknesses of the student--for example--certain students at lower levels of the Chinese language will require a special focus on aspects such as tones, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and should be worked with closely to improve these aspects of the language in order to build a strong foundation.

For over 25 years, I've cultivated a love for music in myself that has translated into my teaching. My experience as a music producer, songwriting and woodwind instruments informs my teaching, helping students unlock their musical potential, regardless of their skill level.
