Private Lessons & Coaches in Salem, OR

I have just recently retired from teaching Middle School and High School Math for 35+ year. I will miss teaching and would like to continue by tutoring math. My teaching career is varied. I taught in Idaho and Oregon for 20+ years before choosing to teach overseas. I taught in Egypt, Malaysia, Myanmar, Ecuador and Guatemala; teaching at international schools. During that time, I also worked on curriculum committees, chaperoned week long trips and worked on my PhD in Math education.

I bring a wealth of expertise to the fairway, drawing from my experience coaching local high school golf teams and providing meticulous club fittings. In golf mastery, I specialize in fine-tuning your launch angle, offering insights into club selection, and guiding players to discover the perfect grip pressure. My coaching journey extends to PGA Tour players, where I've provided valuable lessons in perfecting putting strokes. Let's delve into the ABCs of golf together – from Posture (P) to Grips (G), Alignment (A), and beyond. Every detail counts, and I'm here to ensure you unleash your full potential on the course. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, let's craft a strategy to enhance your golfing prowess. Tee up for success!

I’m Wayne Mendezona, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Corban University and founder of Quick Handle Basketball. I’ve spent over 30+ years developing athletes and have trained more than 50,000 players—from youth to college and professional levels. I specialize in ball handling, scoring, and game performance—helping athletes build confidence, decision-making, and real in-game results. My training is not just drills—it’s about developing complete players who can perform under pressure, think the game, and separate themselves from the competition. I don’t train average. I train athletes who are serious about growth, discipline, and competing at a higher level. If that’s you, let’s get to work.

"My son said Coach Mendo was far and away the most effective coach he's ever worked with! His knowledge, tools, and willingness to share wisdom are incredible. I've never seen my son so impressed by a coach or heard him so enthusiastic about what he learned in a session. Very grateful!
