Kayla has been playing pickleball for 3 years and has competed in tournaments across the nation. Currently holding a 4.5 DUPR, she continues to improve her game while gaining valuable experience. In the last 6 months, Kayla began coaching and is now IPTPA certified, eager to share her expertise and passion for the sport with players of all levels.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Rockaway Beach is my home break. I’ve surfed all over the world—from Hawaii to Indonesia, Puerto Rico to Peru, as well as California and Japan. I’m passionate about teaching and giving people the opportunity to learn this amazing sport while connecting with nature and the waves.

Currently serving as Head Coach of the Lawrence Woodmere Academy Post-Grad Program and Associate Head Coach for the PSA Cardinals 8th and 9th Grade Teams, Coach Pettaway has mentored and trained athletes who’ve gone on to succeed at the Division I, Division II, and JUCO levels. His coaching philosophy centers around hard work, accountability, and team alignment—values that translate beyond basketball into life success. I’ve been coaching football since I was 16 years old. I became a varsity OL/DL coach at the age of 18. I enhanced my knowledge of the game of football by being mentored by head coach’s. Then becoming a defensive coordinator for herricks lacrosse at the age of 19. I now coach travel teams and do private session of all age groups.

Hi! I am a rising junior on the Cornell Women’s Tennis team. My dad is a great tennis coach and I’ve been learning skills from him and giving hitting lessons from a very young age! I can coach, hit, or just rally!
