"In my lessons with Coach Jhazeal, I went from averaging 4pts a game to averaging 22pts a game. He helped me grow 500% better in on court performance. He helped me understand that performance anxiety is common but continuous work and practice will slowly dissolve that problem and he was right. Our practices are always fun and motivating. He even came to some of my games to help cheer me on which made me feel even better. I highly recommend.

Hi, I’m Jorge! I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I played for the youth academy of Once Caldas in Colombia and later played 4 years of varsity soccer in high school. I offer private and group training for players ages 8–18, focusing on dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control, positioning, and game awareness. I’m fluent in English and Spanish and available throughout Fairfield County. My goal is to help players improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

I will focus on fundamentals such as serving, shot selection, footwork, and court positioning, while emphasizing strategy, sportsmanship, and game awareness. I am committed to creating a positive, engaging environment that helps athletes improve and enjoy the game.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE PICKLEBALL COACH I know what it takes to compete — and I coach from that experience, not just from a certification manual. I CAN DIAGNOSE FAST Most coaches give generic feedback. I identify what's actually wrong — quickly — and we make real progress in a single session. No wasted time, no vague cues. I UNDERSTAND men…er…WOMEN…er, people! That’s it, people. The dynamics, the mental pressures, the physical realities of being a (man, a woman, or a muppet) on court. I bring empathy and edge in equal measure. No mansplaining. Ever. EQ, off the charts, (HOW)ever! I COACH THE WHOLE PLAYER Technical, tactical, mental. I know when to push and when to have patience. I'll enhance your strengths, work on your weaknesses, and tailor everything to who you are as a player. EVERY PLAYER HAS A GOAL WORTH CHASING. My students range from 3.0 players discovering the sport to 4.5+ competitors chasing a rating or a tournament result. Mostly women — but not exclusively. What everyone shares is a goal, even if they haven't fully defined it yet. Sometimes the goal is simple: beat Suzy at league night. Sometimes it's bigger: find your inner athlete, feel confident on court, connect to something that's genuinely yours. Often the goal evolves — students come in wanting one thing and discover something they didn't know they were looking for. I'll meet you where you are and hold the highest vision for where you can go — while understanding that progress isn't always linear and some days are just harder than others.
"If you’re looking for a coach who is both easy to get along with and highly skilled, Chris is the one. He brings a contagious energy to the court, and it’s clear he clearly loves the game. I really appreciate how he adapts his teaching style, to my needs, using fun drills that keep me motivated while noticeably improving my game. It is a huge plus that he’s such a strong player himself; his demonstrations are always spot on!

I've been teaching private music lessons for 30 years. "I have been taking lessons from Sean Nowell for the last three years. I am an adult student and started playing tenor sax when I retired. I started with Sean as a complete novice - not only new to the tenor sax, but having never learned how to read sheet music other than rhythm for playing the drums. From the start Sean was very encouraging - even through the painful first lessons when I couldn't properly make sounds come out of the horn! Once I had the basics of learning to at least play all the notes on the range of the tenor sax, Sean moved me into learning all the scales through improvisational jazz. This was an excellent approach for me - since it got me started playing in a manner I desired, even before I could play any real jazz standards. Sean challenged me to continue to progress as we began to learn from standards in the Real Book. All along, Sean taught not just techniques in making good music, but music theory and composition to understand the changes that occur in many forms of jazz. When the iReal book app came available, Sean was quick to have me adopt it and use for even a better practice and playing experience. Sean has been careful not to over teach, but to experience learning through playing. Many of my most important learning lessons have been in back and forth improvisation sessions with Sean. Sean has helped me record my progress of the last three years - a testimonial for how far I have come - but also a reminder of how much more I can improve. I would highly recommend Sean for his terrific teaching talent - and of course his wonderful playing as a master jazz musician. My only wish is I had started sooner and had more years studying with Sean's guidance.
