Boxing has been my life, and through it I’ve built strong knowledge in fitness and nutrition. I’ve trained in different countries and worked with all levels. Hi, my name is Jonathan Saraga and I'm a New York City-based trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer, arranger and educator. I’ve been performing, recording, and competing around the world for over two decades, frequenting Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Asia, the U.S. My trumpet playing appears in over 230 YouTube videos and on more than 30 albums, including many that are Grammy-nominated or Grammy-winning. My playing, compositions and musical research have also received 35 competitive recognitions from 25 national and international organizations, and my work has engaged with audiences in more than 500 cities across nearly 70 countries and close to 100 universities. My ultimate goal as an educator is to guide you toward the realization of your potential. Our learning environment will nurture a personalized process of self-discovery through my guidance, as opposed to a one-size-fits-all system of dictation for how you should or should not develop and/or perceive material. I see each interaction with a student as a sacred opportunity to help facilitate realization, regardless of magnitude, and I have dedicated myself to refining my abilities as a musician and teacher, to that end. I have performed concerts throughout the United states. At age 15, I received a standing ovation at the Brevard Music Festival for my performance of the Tschaikowsky Piano Concerto No 1. I made my New York Debut performing with the Symphony of the New World at Lincoln Center at age 17. I made my Debut at the Metropolitan Opera House production of Porgy and Bess 1992 production in the role of "Jasbo Brown". I repeated this role in the New Jersey State Opera production. For Centaur Records I made a CD of the Arensky Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Czech National Orchestra and Etudes for Solo Piano op. 74. I received the Award for Excellence from the New Jersey Education Association, the "Community Leaders Fostering Change in Education Award" from the New Jersey Unit of the National Association of Negro Business and Women's Clubs, Inc, honored by The Newark Municipal Council, City of Newark, NJ. Tom McGuire is a hockey coach with over eight years of experience developing players of all ages and skill levels. He has coached youth players through Ice Hockey in Harlem, Learn to Play (LTP), and Learn to Skate (LTS) programs with the New York Islanders, as well as travel hockey with North Park Hockey. Tom also works with adult players from beginner to advanced levels, focusing on skill development, confidence, and growing a passion for the game.
