Hi, my name is Jonathan Saraga and I'm a New York City-based trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer, arranger and educator. I’ve been performing, recording, and competing around the world for over two decades, frequenting Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Asia, the U.S. My trumpet playing appears in over 230 YouTube videos and on more than 30 albums, including many that are Grammy-nominated or Grammy-winning. I am a Japanese guy💪, born and raised in Japan. I learned to ski from my strict!? father at first, and later started skiing with school friends and family. In 1989, I obtained my Level 2 technical ski certification from the Japanese Ski Association (SAJ). During on-season, I’m teaching at a ski resort’s ski school. I can work with you during off-season at NJ. About my past life! I came to the US as a student, and time has flown by since then. After becoming a frequent traveler for multiple jobs at one of the largest Japanese companies, I now retired and started teaching skiing for fun! I obtained my Level 1 ski instructor certification from the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA-AASI) and have already passed my Level 2 ski exam (Less than 50% of instructors pass this), with my sights set on further improving my teaching skills. Phew😮‍💨, the learning 📚never ends! In addition to skiing for over 40+ years, I have a deep background in classical music 🎵and play the piano with a degree. I was also an official docent at Carnegie Hall for 10 years. Recently, I completed a Reiki healing master class and am planning to help others with it.
