He started his journey at the prestigious Conservatorio de Musica de Ibague, where he discovered his love for the violin under the tutelage of renowned musician Daniel Oviedo Galeano. His dedication and commitment to his craft led him to excel in his high school studies, culminating in his graduation in 2017 with a Music Honor Diploma of Excellence. Eager to continue his musical education, Juan Villanueva embarked on his collegiate journey at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2018, further honing his skills and knowledge in the world of music. In 2020, Juan Villanueva’s remarkable talent and unwavering dedication were recognized when he received a scholarship to study at Rowan University.
