I am a 2025 college graduate from St. Mary's College of Maryland. I played 4 years of college lacrosse there and am now a Assistant Coach and defensive coordinator for the team. Over the 2025-2026 season I have learned many valuable lessons about coaching and how to get the most out of my players while still keeping the love for the sport they have. I am passionate about this sport that have given me so much and now I am looking to give back in as many ways as I can.

Lester Chavez hails from the Tidewater VA area with over 35 years of coaching experience. Throughout his career, Coach Lester has served as Director of Tennis at the Montgomery Sports Association, Head Coach at Tennis Centeal, Head Coach at Holton Arms and Georgetown Visitation. He played NCAA II tennis for the Washington Adventist University as a student (Business Admin. Management/Marketing), player and Head Coach.

I began playing tennis before I could walk. By age 11 I competed year-round in the Texas Junior Circuit. From age 9 to 13 I was coached by the greats John Wilkerson and Edgar Arnold and was on track to begin competing nationally by age 14. I have competed in tennis, football, and baseball at the collegiate, and professional levels for the majority of my life.

As a dedicated baseball coach and lifetime player, my approach to athlete development blends data-driven instruction, relentless intensity, and authentic collaboration between athlete and coach. Having played baseball since the age of three and actively coached since 2019, I focus on developing well-rounded athletes who master both physical metrics and the mental demands of the game.
