I have taught students all types of sports, I have done plenty of summer camps where I taught kids sports, I can teach at the highest level. I play basketball my self and can teach all students everything they need to know to become the best basketball player they could think of. I am very excited to work with all of you and just excited to spread the love of basketball.

Played high school basketball on the varsity team, current casual hooper, often playing pickup at gyms. College student who has worked over a hundred hours with kids in other fields: stem tutoring and volunteering. Coached some of my friends to play basketball and would love to help teach some kids to hoop. Love the game and want to spread that love through the game.

Coach Blake started his basketball coaching career as a teenager at the Boy's & Girls Club. Later in life he played professionally for the two professional leagues in South Africa. Due to his influence, he started coaching. He led the girls and boys high school basketball teams at Queens High School (South Africa) to the conference finals. The boys won and made history for the school. Bright Waniko a college/pro prospect was the most skilled player he taught (video in media). Unfortunately, he passed away due to heart complications.

Jewel Ausberry, affectionately known as MerJewel, is the heart and soul of MerJewel Swim Academy. With over 35 years of teaching experience, Jewel brings a unique blend of expertise, patience, and a natural ability to connect with students of all ages. Her lifelong passion for swimming began early as a high school swim team member for four years, and she later achieved lifeguard certification in her senior year. Jewel’s experience as an educator enhances her swim instruction, making her lessons engaging, effective, and tailored to each student’s needs. Known for her great sense of humor, Jewel creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere where swimmers feel confident and excited to learn. Whether working with babies, children, or adults, Jewel’s approach combines water safety, technical skill development, and lots of laughter to make every lesson a memorable experience.
