I am a retired high school English teacher with 36 years' experience. I use bilingual teaching for Mandarin lessons to help students learn easily. My students include teens, college students, working adults and seniors. Lessons focus on daily & workplace spoken Chinese. I share traditional Chinese culture in class and provide beginner HSK guidance. I love Chinese history, classic literature, flower arrangement and tea art.

I specialize in developing solid fundamentals, including tone production, breath support, finger technique, and music reading. I’m a touring bassist, backing vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, app creator, and music production coach. I help students turn ideas into finished songs by focusing on recording workflow, arrangement, tone, song structure, performance, and confidence. My lessons are practical, relaxed, and built around each student’s goals, whether they are starting out, writing their first track, or trying to improve their production process.

I am a guitarist with over a decade of playing experience and five years of teaching under my belt. It’s always good to have something keep you grounded and for me it was guitar, and what better? At the end of the day guitar is the COOLEST. A Berklee attendee and Emerson graduate in sound engineering, my gig experience ranges from small venues to auditoriums.
