Hello! My name is Chan and I teach English! I’m a second year at Northeastern University transferring from UC Santa Cruz.

Teaching has been in my bloodline for at least three generations and I feel honored to carry the torch onward as a language instructor. I attended the American School of Rio de Janeiro, where education was bilingual and subjects were taught in both Portuguese and English. I’ve taught ESL for over 20 years, from Boston, MA to Denver, CO and I hope to provide an unforgettable educational experience to people from all over the world.

I started playing tennis at 14 under professional training, but truly fell in love with the game battling anyone willing to step on the court at the local university. Over time, that passion grew into mentoring and coaching others, helping players develop their skills, confidence, and love for tennis. As an experienced educator with a Master's degree in Education, I specialize in helping students in grades 2-5 turn their thoughts into clear, organized writing. PPR Level 1 certified pickleball coach looking to transition from golf to pickleball. I taught hundreds of kids, ranging from 5-year-olds to teenagers, the basics of golf and the golf swing while at the First Tee of the Rocky Mountains and as the girls' golf coach at Lakewood High School.
