My name is Blake Hathcoat. I have played golf for 20 years, and played Division 1 golf at Saint Mary’s College. After school, I turned professional and played on many tours including PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA Tour Canada. I have been coaching for over 5 years, with students from juniors to professionals. My philosophy is centered on tailoring instruction to each student’s swing and strengths. Let’s get to work!

With over 15 years of surfing experience and 9+ years as a surf instructor, I deliver professional, safety-focused coaching tailored to all skill levels. My expertise in wave reading, surf technique, and ocean awareness helps students build confidence and progress efficiently. Fluent in five languages, I communicate effectively with an international clientele and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

I am biochemistry student at UC Davis who just recently transferred from Chabot College in Hayward, CA. At Chabot College I was a tutor for the Chemistry Club for 2 years and helped in both Biology and Chemistry Courses. Being apart of the Chemistry Club we often did outreach program to primary schools in the surrounding area to also get younger students into the sciences.

With a decade dedicated to shaping athletes on and off the field, I foster a positive learning environment while instilling fundamental skills. I built my surfing foundation through Junior Lifeguards, wrestling, 24hr ocean/cliff rescue and time with shredder friends. With 33 years of dedicated practice, I now coach surfers of all levels, sharing techniques, insights, challenges and unique awareness the surf breaks demand. I've also used CAD to design next-gen surfboard fins. These airfoil-based, winged fins generate more thrust and lift, making surfing easier and more controlled for beginners while unlocking radical lines for experts.

I’ve had a passion for competitive golf from an early age, with achievements like winning the Peninsula Country Club Junior Championship in 1999 and holding records at Burlingame Country Club and Harding Park. I was ranked as the No. 1 player on a team with two future U.S. Open competitors and played for the UC Davis golf team in 2001 and 2002. I've trained with over 10 PGA professionals and attended the prestigious Jim McLean National Junior Summer Academy. With over three years of teaching junior golf, I love working with beginners and young players, while also running my own business, FORE Golf Towels.

With over 10 years of experience teaching mathematics, I know that every student learns differently. I specialize in explaining the same concept in multiple ways, helping students build confidence and truly understand the material instead of just memorizing it. My goal is to make math approachable, engaging, and tailored to each student's unique learning style.
