Coach BJ Nard is a former Division I athlete and elite performance coach specializing in speed, explosiveness, and position-specific development. He has worked with NFL, NBA, Olympic, overseas, and youth to collegiate athletes, preparing them for combines, pro days, and competition. His system develops athletes who react faster, move efficiently, and perform when it matters most.

I am Newly retired Service Professional. Specializing in Customer and Employee Satisfaction. I have been an athlete my entire life and have been a dedicated runner including Ultra Marathon distances . I started playing Pickleball almost 2 years ago and have several tournament Podiums in that time. I would like people to learn the health and Social benefits of playing this game and also how to safely move around the court. Coaching is what I love doing and Pickleball is my passion.

4.5 DUPR pickleball coach with 4 years of competitive play. I play 3-4x weekly and love helping players build solid fundamentals, smarter strategy, and court confidence. I coach players of all ages, skill levels, and positions. My programming is tailored to each athlete's goals, whether that's learning the game from scratch, improving specific skills, or trying to compete at the next level. Along with developing a strong base of fundamentals, I enjoy teaching the mental side of baseball, which was imperative to my career and carries over off the field. My goal is to create a positive and challenging environment that facilitates improvement.

Fueled from a life long passion for racquet sports including playing for UC Irvine tennis 1986-1990, I became a dedicated pickleball enthusiast in January 2021. I started at over 190 lbs and currently am at 160 lbs and in the best shape I have been for the last 20+ years, so I know the benefits of pickleball. Not to mention the wide array of good friends I have made over the years. I currently compete at the Senior Pro level and my DUPR rating is over 5.0 in both singles and doubles. I work with all levels of pickleball players and have coached students now competing at the professional level. I am an IPTPA certified instructor and my teaching philosophy is not just about how to swing the paddle, but teaching the art of pickleball - strategy, spins, footwork, and how to get the most out of your game.

Bill is patient and has a gift for explaining body mechanics in memorable ways that immediately click. We worked on my backhand returns, drives, and dinks. I realized I had been doing many of the fundamentals incorrectly, and Bill made each correction easy to understand and apply. By the end of the lesson, I was finally starting to develop the feel for a proper backhand drive after struggling with it for four years. I only wish I had taken a lesson with Bill three or four years ago. It would have saved me years of frustration and bad habits. I look forward to my next lesson and feel more confident heading into my next tournament. I highly recommend Bill to anyone who wants to improve their game.
