For over 30 years, I've shared my love for tennis with students from beginners to intermediate levels with proven techniques with a personalized approach, helping you achieve your goals while enjoying the game. I am committed to developing well-rounded players. Also, having 2degrees in education from a major university, (where I played varsity tennis for two years) has helped me greatly in shortening a players learning curve. AND…I make learning fun! "I had such a great lesson with Roger! He taught me the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, volleys, and how to hit a lob, but what really stood out was how much he focused on proper technique and the small details that make a big difference. One tip that really stuck with me was learning to keep my eyes on the contact point when hitting the ball, which immediately helped my consistency. Roger is patient, encouraging, and explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand, no matter your skill level. I left the lesson feeling more confident and excited to keep improving. This lesson might honestly be one of the reasons I hope to come back to San Clemente someday. I’d love to train with Roger again. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their game!

From an experienced school teacher to a 4.5 rated Pickleball instructor, I've transitioned my dedication for teaching into a new athletic arena. With over 3 decades of tennis playing and coaching under my belt, including a two-year stint at Mesa College, I bring a rich and diverse experience to my coaching. My journey into the dynamic world of Pickleball started a short 2 years ago, and in that short span, I've achieved a player rating of 4.0 to 4.5. Currently, I am currently a Pro-Certified instructor with the PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry) to further strengthen my Pickleball coaching credentials. Despite my newfound passion for Pickleball, I still teach tennis, integrating the best of both sports into my training approach. Together, let's work on boosting your skills and raising your game!

I’m a recent graduate from UCSB with over 16 years of competitive tennis experience, including playing at the Division I level and leading the UCSB Club Tennis team. Through my time as both a player and captain, I’ve gained extensive experience coaching and mentoring athletes of all skill levels. I also offer hitting practice, including match play and point-based drills to simulate real competition. I am flexible in my availability and willing to travel.
