Hi, I’m Tom, a passionate pickleball coach who helps beginner to intermediate players to build confidence, improve consistency, and develop a more competitive game. I am a PPR Certified Pickleball Coach and love to play pickleball, participated in Sr. Pro in PPA Tucson (2024), California Championship (2025, 4.0 Silver Medalist), and USA Championship in San Diego (2025). My background as a licensed physical therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy allows me to bring a unique, results-driven approach to coaching. With over a decade of coaching experience and a 5.0 NTRP playing level, I’ve worked with players ranging from young beginners to advanced competitors. I'm a native Spanish teacher from Costa Rica and bilingual educator with 10+ years of teaching experience and 20+ years in technology and professional training. I work with children teens, adults, beginners, advanced learners, and heritage Spanish Speakers, specializing in conversation, pronunciation, grammar, reading, writing, and confidence-building through an ACTFL-aligned approach. I am passionate about helping students learn Mandarin in a fun and creative way. Using videos will help them understand the topic and theme more easily. I believe learning Mandarin should be fun rather than stressful. I am willing to make any necessary changes to help students succeed. During the first lesson, the student is expected to take a brief Mandarin skills test to help me understand the student's current level and skills in Mandarin.
