Hi, My name is Brian Ma I have been playing Tennis for over 14 years now and I've always had a strong passion towards this sport. I played singles #1 & #2 all throughout high school and I have over 9 years of teaching experience working with all ages of all skill levels. My main goal as a coach is to build an environment where my students can feel comfortable and be able to openly express themselves as an athlete.

With a decade dedicated to shaping athletes on and off the field, I foster a positive learning environment while instilling fundamental skills. I started playing competitive soccer at age 10. Driven by great coaches, I went on to play college soccer and join the Philippine U20/Senior Women's National Team pool. I currently play for the CSU Eastbay Pioneers and played for two years for the Pipers at Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN. I have also played for the So Cal Dutch Lions USLW/WPSL. Today, as an assistant coach for Legacy Speed and Elite IQ Football, with experience leading camps for Aitana Bonmatí and the San Diego Wave, I help young athletes build skills, confidence, and character. I have been a Basketball Coach for over 25 years from the high school to college level. I spent 17 years (2005-2022) as the Head Men's Coach at De Anza College in Northern California. Prior to that I was the Head Assistant Coach at Notre Dame de Namur University (2002-2004) in Belmont, California. I began my coaching career at W.C. Overfelt High School in San Jose (1999-2002). I have coached hundreds of student-athletes from diverse backgrounds. I am experienced and committed.

Played ITF tournaments throughout Europe. Growing up had chance to learn from elite world class coaches Sergei Likhachev, Alexander Zverev Sr. ( Sasha’s father) College: Had a full scholarship at Western Kentucky University, Division 1. Played #1 position singles and doubles. Awarded All-Conference Player of the year, Sun Belt Conference. Transferred to BYU- Hawaii, Division II.  I led the team to win the NCAA-II championship title. First time in school history BYU-Hawaii became #1 in the country. Trained and helped/hitting partner of Marat Safin and Anna Kournikova. Worked with Lulu Sun, helped her with strategic training and skills. WTA career high, 39 in the world.
