Let's groove! I have been performing as a bassist for over 18 years, and teaching for over ten years. As an instructor, I meet students where they are and tailor my teaching approach accordingly. Lessons are collaborative; I want to get to know each student and your individual goals and learning style in order to create an open and comfortable learning environment. My extensive musical background allows you to choose music YOU like to play, and through each song we will work on specific technical, harmonic, and rhythmic concepts. I use my experience as an active working musician to inform the lessons and ground everything you learn in real-world application. About me: I tour the US and internationally with Future Teens, an indie rock band with over three LPs on our resume. Future Teens has been featured on NPR, The Boston Globe, and WBUR, and was Boston Music Awards’ 2019 Alt/Indie Artist of the Year. I studied bass performance at Berklee College of Music, where I earned the Bass Department Outstanding Performer Award and Scholarship. I have a BA in English and French from Skidmore College (‘13). I have worked with students between the ages of six and sixty and welcome students of all ages.

"First lesson with Alex. He came on time with his equipment and was easy to set up the lessons with. Friendly and knowledgeable with the love for the pickleball game. I was preparing for a future tournament so this lesson consists of a mix of everything, from different types of serves, to dinking, and returns. He evaluated my fundamentals and helped support my foundation and polished areas that I had issues being consistent with. Easy to work with and has an eye on picking up little details that I missed. Looking forward to future lessons and will review again on the progress.

I’m a lifelong student of the game, raised in a family of coaches, and I’ve spent years in the gym studying how players actually improve. I care about the details—footwork, decision-making, and building skills that show up in real games. Every session is focused on helping players grow their confidence, understand the game, and become more effective when it matters. I built my own game around efficiency—shooting over 60% from three with a 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio—and that same approach is what I now use to help players improve and reach their potential. Hello my name is Armen Grigorian I am from Glendale CA I have played the sport of basketball since I was 8 years old right now I’m 34 years old so 26 years I have coached kids at glendale ymca since age 13 so 21 years of coaching. I also inspire kids to be successful on and off the court I am a shooting exhibitionist I pride myself on that to be efficient in my shot making abilities.
