Max is a passionate skier, certified ski instructor, and lifelong student of ski technique based in North Vancouver, BC. He holds CSIA and VASS certifications and has extensive experience skiing and teaching in the North Shore mountains. His experience includes working with skiers of different ages and ability levels, with a particular focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence, balance, and efficient skiing technique. His coaching philosophy is centered on making skiing both technically sound and enjoyable. He focuses on helping skiers understand how to use their edges, pressure, balance, and turn shape rather than simply telling them what to do. On groomed terrain, he emphasizes controlled movements, effective pivoting, and initiating turns with the lower body. In powder and variable snow, he focuses on maintaining balance over the skis, adapting pressure, and allowing the skis to move naturally through the snow. Outside of skiing, Max is also a certified tennis instructor and an engineer specializing in building science and façade engineering. His technical background influences his coaching style: he enjoys breaking down movement into understandable concepts and finding practical ways for students to apply them on the snow.
