Reid, Mike Portnoy (dream theater), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Dave Ellefson (Megadeth), and Island Def Jam Recordings. Throughout Serge's career one of his greatest joys and accomplishments has been teaching guitar, bass, and piano and sharing his knowledge of multiple genres, fast licks, and music theory. Phil brings over thirty years of teaching experience to his students, working with all ages, levels, and stylistic interests. He has taught individual and group formats, from beginner classes to college level ensembles, and works with all instruments in the areas of theory/composition and improvisation. His pedagogical philosophy aims to facilitate learning music as a language, while simultaneously helping students to (eventually) become their own teacher. This involves helping them acquire the tools and understanding to achieve their musical and life goals. It is about the growth and development of the entire person.

I've been coaching since I was 16 years old, so my experience and knowledge help athletes learn not only on, but also off the field. I cultivate a supportive environment where players thrive and reach their peak performance.
