Brooklyn based and born in Hartford Connecticut, Ryan began playing the trumpet at 7 years old and is currently pursuing a Master's degree from NYU while emerging as an artist in the NYC jazz scene. With a thorough background in jazz, classical, Broadway, funk, and commercial music, Ryan is heavily influenced by contemporary improvised music that embraces its' roots in tradition, and has a teaching style centered around cultivating a genuine passion for music in his students.
