“great experience, coach jay is very professional and responsible, my kids like the class.”Hua J., parent

About Jay-ArTennis has been my life for 30 years — as a player, a college competitor, and now as a coach who’s put in over 345 lessons helping students actually improve. My game blends Federer-style touch and feel on the one-handed backhand with the heavy, modern topspin you see from players like Alcaraz and Sinner — and that’s exactly what I bring to your lessons, whether you’re building your fundamentals or refining a competitive game. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter lessons. Every session is built around your goals, your level, and what’s actually holding your game back — with the technology and tools (video analysis, ball machine, real match-play strategy) to back it up. Beyond the court, you’re joining a tennis community: connect with fellow students, ask me questions directly, work through structured courses at your own pace, and get access to local clinics and events. My goal is simple — help you fall in love with this game while getting genuinely better at it.Go to profile

Reviews for coaches at Crocker Amazon Playground

Ben is an excellent tennis coach. He comes up with thoughtful, effective drills that make each session both engaging and productive. What I especially appreciate is how specific his feedback is—he doesn’t just say that a shot was off; he explains why. He gives clear corrections on form, follow-through, spacing from the ball, and even which part of the racquet I am making contact with. Before working with Ben, I often did not understand why one shot would go in while another similar one would miss. With his coaching, I am starting to recognize what went right or wrong in each shot and make adjustments on my own. His attention to detail has made tennis feel much more understandable and has helped me improve with real intention. I would highly recommend Ben to anyone looking for a coach who combines great drills with precise, actionable instruction.

The lesson was quite helpful in clarifying some basic forehand techniques, though I still need to work on consistency. Jay-ar's approach is steady, and I appreciate the focus on proper grip and footwork, which makes a difference. Looking forward to seeing how I improve with more practice. Still, I think a bit more emphasis on rally drills could be beneficial next time. If you're into tennis and want to really improve fundamentals, giving Jay-ar a try might be worth considering.

Starting with the absolute basics, I think Jay-ar's lesson was quite effective, especially since he emphasized building a solid foundation. Though I still need to work on my overall consistency, I appreciated how calm and focused he was throughout. I hope future lessons will help me strengthen those fundamentals further, definitely worth trying if you're aiming for steady improvement.

Get him while he’s still affordable—I have a feeling that he’ll soon out-priced my budget 😭

What stood out most to me was how comprehensive and dynamic the lesson was. Jay-ar kept the session engaging from start to finish, balancing technique and practice perfectly. If you're thinking about improving your game, I definitely recommend giving his lessons a try. It’s a great way to boost your skills and enjoy tennis at the same time. 🎾

See Coach Jay-Ar

Our first lesson with Jay-ar was very comprehensive and efficient. The pace kept us engaged while covering a lot of ground, making it easy to follow and apply the lessons on the spot. It was a 2-people lesson with different skill level, but Jay-ar kept it relevant and effective for both players. Looking forward to out next lesson! 🎾
