Play Pickleball at Hourglass Field Community Park and Field House

Bio: I started playing pickleball in 2014 and have been successful in local tournament play events. Due to my early experience, I started the pickleball program at my local tennis club in Scripps Ranch as it increased from 2 to 4 to 8 pickleball courts. From there, with the help of the tennis pro, we started with large groups (30 -40 players) for pickleball training sessions years ago until interrupted by the covid pandemic. We were able to recently start training again in 2023 with our current expanded player base.

Bio: Hello, I'm Alvin, a 4.0 rated Pickleball player with a wealth of experience on the court. My passion extends beyond teaching you the sport; I want you to find real enjoyment from each game. I believe Pickleball can be more than just a pastime—it can be an engaging and rewarding part of your life. My approach to coaching focuses on key aspects of the game: comprehending fundamental rules, mastering vital techniques, and strategically engaging your opponent. By learning to strike the ball effectively, you can keep your opponents off balance and enhance your overall game. With me as your coach, every session will be a step closer to becoming a confident and skilled player.

Bio: From an experienced school teacher to a 4.5 rated Pickleball instructor, I've transitioned my dedication for teaching into a new athletic arena. With over 3 decades of tennis playing and coaching under my belt, including a two-year stint at Mesa College, I bring a rich and diverse experience to my coaching. My journey into the dynamic world of Pickleball started a short 2 years ago, and in that short span, I've achieved a player rating of 4.0 to 4.5. Currently, I am currently a Pro-Certified instructor with the PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry) to further strengthen my Pickleball coaching credentials. Despite my newfound passion for Pickleball, I still teach tennis, integrating the best of both sports into my training approach. Together, let's work on boosting your skills and raising your game!
