About Brian

Brian Mahon, originally from San Diego, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the game of golf. A former collegiate golfer at UCLA from 1981-1986, Brian was a top-five member of the nation’s #1 ranked program and served as Team Captain his senior year. He went on to play professionally on various tours worldwide before transitioning to a distinguished coaching career. As a Class "A" PGA Professional for 23 years, Brian has taught golfers of all levels, including PGA Tour top 100 all-time money winner Duffy Waldorf, Oklahoma State 4-time All-American Edward Loar, and the 1996 Rockwall High School State Championship team. Brian also served as one of only two Director-level Instructors for Hank Haney Golf, managing facilities in Dallas and delivering over 1,000 private lessons annually for two decades. He enjoys coaching students of all ages, including his own children—his son Harrison, a UCLA golfer, and his daughter Tatum, a senior at San Diego State. Currently, Brian is the Director of Golf at RGAC, where he continues to inspire and develop players while also running his successful insurance agency.
