•About me (golf) My name is Noel Sims. I am a professional golfer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I am 27-years old and have been playing the game since I could walk. I have been competing in golf tournaments from ages 3-current and have played in some elite events as a junior golfer, amateur golfer and professional golfer. While finishing my junior career, I was ranked the #1 African-American in the nation and top 240 in the world on the JGS rankings. I played 1-year at South Mountain Community College where I was apart of a NJCAA National Championship team in 2016 and finished my collegiate career at Alabama State from years 2017-2021 (redshirt year at SMCC and a Covid-19 year at ASU). I was a consistent starting at both programs and have a lot experience of playing different styles of golf. I turned professional in 2021 and have made 2/2 cuts at the 2021 Outlaw Tour Wigwam Red Classic and the 2023 Arizona Open (haven’t played much professional due to finishing my Master’s Degree while also working after my collegiate career). • About me (education) I have an extensive passion for helping others reach their true potential. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My passion for others goes farther than just helping others in a room, but also outdoors! I find enjoyment in seeing others progress and passing my knowledge to others when it comes to golf and also recommendations with life.
"There are not many coaches who practice what they preach, and are actually great golfers. Noel absolutely is and I’m glad to have found someone who is so passionate about the game
With 50 years of teaching, I bring a lifetime of golfing wisdom. My professional experience shapes my teaching, tailoring lessons for every skill level. Expect focused guidance, a dash of humor, and real results.

I grew up playing golf in Phoenix, AZ and went on to play Division I golf at the University of Wyoming, where I accomplished my goal of winning a collegiate tournament. My favorite part of golf has always been understanding how people get better—from the mechanics of the golf swing, practice methodologies, and the psychology behind the way we think and therefore swing. Since graduating, I’ve dedicated my career to coaching players of all ages with the mission of helping them unlock their potential in golf. I’ve run an elite junior academy at Bear Creek Golf Club in California under the guidance of top-ranked coaches Chris Walkey and Tony Greco, as well as physical therapist Dr. Mike Kay, and later became a key part of Perfect Circle Golf under the mentorship of Blake Isakson. I am also TPI Golf and Fitness Certified, providing me with a deeper understanding of how the body moves and organizes itself. My teaching philosophy is centered on educating and empowering students with a deep understanding of the fundamentals—grip, setup, balance, impact, and finishing position—and how critical and often overlooked they are. These essential pieces have downstream effects on every part of the golf swing. While at the University of Wyoming, I earned an engineering degree, which allows me to understand the biomechanics of the golf swing and body. While I respect the principles defined in The Golfing Machine, I believe we must always start by ensuring the fundamentals are understood, proper, and matched up to your body. I believe improvement only happens when players not only know what to practice, but also how to practice effectively. That’s why I provide drills, games, and feedback tools designed to give you clear markers for whether you’re accomplishing what you want during your training sessions. This way, you can build confidence and learn to coach yourself during your own practice time. I equip my students with a plan that can be accomplished from the comfort of home or outside, making improvement easier and more accessible. I believe that playing the golf of your dreams—or having the swing of your dreams—is equal parts mental and physical. Drawing from the principles of Karl Morris’ MindCaddie and the Vision 54 framework, I integrate mental performance training into my coaching so students learn not only to swing better but also to think, focus, and react better on and off the course. Success in golf comes from aligning your technical skills, your body’s capabilities, and your mental approach—while always keeping enjoyment at the center of the journey. Whether you’re a beginner, a competitive junior, or an adult player looking to lower your scores, my goal is to provide world-class instruction tailored to your goals. Above all, I bring energy, passion, and clarity to every lesson. My mission is to create an elite yet enjoyable learning environment where every student can reach their potential, play their best golf, and truly enjoy the game.
I bring high energy and passion to every lesson, creating a fun and motivating environment for golfers of all levels. A former state-level high school golfer, I know firsthand what it takes to compete at a high standard and continually grow in the game. Currently, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Sport and Performance Psychology at Arizona State University, where I’m building expertise in the mental side of performance to help athletes unlock their full potential. My coaching blends technical skill development with a strong focus on mindset, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
