Play Pickleball at Pacific Beach Recreation Center

Bio: I started playing pickleball a few years ago and I play several times a week in advanced level open play and ladder sessions. I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to go from not knowing how to play to being a solid pickup player who can play in intermediate and advanced games. I still know exactly what it’s like to be a brand new beginner and trying to figure out the game especially all the rules. My coaching style is easygoing and I try to keep the lessons light hearted so everyone feels welcome and comfortable. I like to use a mix of drills and gameplay with real time instruction and feedback during my lessons. A group of 3 or 4 students makes for a great class because I can play a doubles game with you while teaching you how the game works. I can also advise you on equipment, where to play, what apps to download to find games and leagues, etc. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Bio: Hi, I’m Jamie! Pickleball runs in my family—my dad’s a pro instructor, and he was the one who first got me hooked back in Florida. Fast forward to today, I’m a 4.5 player based in San Diego, playing in tournaments and hitting the courts several times a week to drill and grow my game. I’m all about focused practice, fun energy, and helping players level up through smart, intentional reps. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to sharpen specific skills, I’d love to help you play more confidently—and have a great time doing it!

Bio: From an experienced school teacher to a 4.5 rated Pickleball instructor, I've transitioned my dedication for teaching into a new athletic arena. With over 3 decades of tennis playing and coaching under my belt, including a two-year stint at Mesa College, I bring a rich and diverse experience to my coaching. My journey into the dynamic world of Pickleball started a short 2 years ago, and in that short span, I've achieved a player rating of 4.0 to 4.5. Currently, I am currently a Pro-Certified instructor with the PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry) to further strengthen my Pickleball coaching credentials. Despite my newfound passion for Pickleball, I still teach tennis, integrating the best of both sports into my training approach. Together, let's work on boosting your skills and raising your game!
