Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst, I assess the player’s knowledge and current skills. What do they know? What aspects are they most nervous about learning? I also want to go over their goals so I can better align my future lesson plans to fit their goals.
Lesson 11+Once the basic foundational skills are second nature, I now begin adding in bits of intermediate skills and knowledge to help prepare them for the jump to intermediate courses.
Lesson 4-10We continue to build on the foundational skills, mentally and physically. I now begin to see what specific areas of the game the player naturally excels at and also where they struggle. Using this knowledge, I tailor their lessons.
Lesson 2-3We begin to run through the basic fundamentals, such as where our feet need to be positioned to pass, how our hands should be held, etc. I will also incorporate the mental aspect of the game. I find that a strong intellectual foundation is just as important as the skills they learn.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI will first assess skill level, their knowledge of the game, and inquire as to how they learn best. I’m here to tailor my experience and expertise to best fit the player’s learning style and their overall goals.
Lesson 11+The same as lessons 4-10 with the addition of dissecting film and weight training/cardio for better endurance and strength.
Lesson 4-10Position specific drills, increasing volleyball intelligence, and continuing to round out their overall abilities.
Lesson 2-3More skill level assessment with some position specific drills.

Youth players
Working with kidsI want to keep the game as fun possible for kids. They are more likely to learn a new skill, practice it, and come back to learn more if they enjoy what they are doing. Love for the game is why we all got into volleyball in the first place, so I want to foster that alongside building their skill set.

Working with teenagersI want to make their programs as individualized as possible. This will all depend on the goals of the player and what positions they play. Again, I want to stress the importance of having fun, but with teenagers, I can push them further outside of their comfort zone since they are more mature than young children.

What you need to bringCorrect shoes and clothing, volleyball, water bottle, and any other necessary personal items.

What I can bringI can provide a ball if you do not have one. We will practice on local nets if a net is required.
