Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWhen we first start doing lessons together, I like to chat a bit first about your level of play. Then I'll watch you do a series of quick skills like serving, passing and setting to evaluate where you are as a player without me coaching you (yet). Then we will talk after about your aspirations for the sport, if you want to train a specific position or just learn the sport full circle. Once I've seen where you are as a starting point and understand where you'd like to go then I can come up with a plan to get you there.
Lesson 11+At this point, you've grown to understand the game of volleyball and get the feel of doing these movements from the many reps prior, so now I will up the level of difficulty in terms of the type of balls you receive. Either making you move more, swinging faster/harder and putting you in fast paced game like situations.
Lesson 4-10We will continue down the path of understanding all the requirements of each moment, role and body positioning for each position requested. As you continue to come and we continue to move through the different skills, I will begin making the drills more fast paced and challenging.
Lesson 2-3As we enter the next lessons, I will have made a specific plan for you. We will begin to break down the mechanics and fundamentals for that skill and focus on just 1-2 skills per lesson so you can get the reps needed to build the muscle memory.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonComing in already advanced means you want to sharpen your skills and/or get reps so that's exactly how we'll jump into it. If you're a ds/l we'll hop into some serve/serve receive progressions or preferred focused skill. Same with hitters and setters.
Lesson 11+We will discuss what you'd like to specifically focus on that particular private based off of certain struggles in live game play/game like situations so I can create that scenario and we can work on it until it's perfected.
Lesson 4-10Continue working through the skills needed for your role with tons of reps creating the muscle memory. I will begin to challenge you with certain type of balls you struggle with on purpose to build your mental aspect of the game and so you can work those kinks out in privates/practices vs games.
Lesson 2-3At this point we'll move on to another key aspect in your particular position. For example, if you're a ds/l and we did serve/serve receive last time, we may focus on defense/off ball setter or coverage, etc. Same for hitters and setters. We will just progress the skills required of your position.

Youth players
Working with kidsI love working with the youth! I coach 12s for summer league and club! With young kids, I like to take things really slow and use a lot of demoing from myself so they can visually see what needs to be done for them to master the skill. Also a lot of references and analogies to help them understand movements. Plus a very encouraging environment where they get praised a ton and always supported regardless of the outcome of skill at the moment.

Working with teenagersI work with teenagers primarily. I coach 16-18u club and they are my main age group. With teenagers, it's very important to find balance between pushing their potential and fostering a safe/fun environment. I make sure I'm aware of the balance as I go into coaching them. Most of them are super advanced/elite athletes who can take heavy coaching but they're still kids/teens so I still continue to uplift and encourage them as they perfect their skills.

What you need to bringYou need to bring - 1. Your volleyball gear (shoes, knee pads, appropriate dress attire) 2. A water bottle (there are on sight water fountains also)

What I can bringI will provide the court and all necessary equipment to run the lesson. (Net, antennas, balls, cones, etc.)
