Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI approach the first lesson with beginners by focusing on creating a positive and comfortable environment while introducing the fundamentals of volleyball. I start by assessing their current skill level, athletic movement, and understanding of the game. From there, I teach basic techniques such as ready position, passing, setting, and serving with an emphasis on proper form and repetition. I like to keep the first lesson fun, encouraging, and interactive so athletes build confidence while learning the fundamentals of communication, movement, and ball control.
Lesson 2-3For the second or third lesson with one student at a time, I focus on building confidence through individualized instruction and repetition. I continue reinforcing the fundamentals introduced in the first session while tailoring drills to the athlete’s strengths and areas for improvement. Since it is one-on-one training, I can provide immediate feedback, correct technique in real time, and adjust the pace to fit the athlete’s learning style. I also begin incorporating more movement, communication, and game-like situations to help develop consistency and overall volleyball IQ.
