Beginner training plan
Your first lessonSkills assessment:
- I will assess your baseline volleyball skills in each category (serving, passing, receiving, setting, blocking, hitting, digging)
- We will also assess your general strength, agility, explosiveness and spatial awareness.
Lesson 11+Week 11+ would be focused on developing advanced skills such as jump serves for power and/or floats to keep your opponent off balance.
Higher level Libero drills would be utilized to progress coordination, reaction speed and confidence needed to cover large areas of the court.
Lesson 4-10- Progressing power and learning fundamental offensive and defensive strategies including position rotations and hitting positions (1’s, 2’s, C-ball, BIC, 4’s, 5’s, also quick attacks.
Lesson 2-3- Breakdown faulty movement patterns and bad habits.
- Use targeted drills to reinforce proper habits to maximize speed, control and consistency.
- Improve proficiency in the basic fundamental skills need to okay competitively (serving, passing and hitting)
- Discuss and recommended position specializations based on their evaluation performance. We can train any desired position that an athlete has interest in.
