Beginner training plan
Your first trainingThe fire lesson is an introductory skill evaluation and a goal setting session. Depending on skill level we will go over fundamental skills such as footwork, court navigation, passing and serving. Something I do differently as a coach is put an emphasis on non-measurable skills such as communication, confidence and leadership on and off the court. Together we will work to achieve goals and improve you as a well-rounded player.
Training 2-3Based on your individual goals we will break down skills and go deeper to identify strengths and areas to improve on. I typically break these down into defensive drilling and offensive drilling. Based on level we might begin with the fundamentals of volleyball like going through volleyball rules, basic rotations and how to contact the ball.
Training 4-10From here on out we will move on to specific drilling on each area such as:
-passing drills
-serving drills
-serve and receiving
-transitions on and around the court
-coverage
-communication
-footwork and hitting
I prefer to end lessons on a positive fun drill that really ties to together what we went over with a fun twist!!
Training 11+We will continue on with drilling but from here on out we will refine your skills even further where we teach you how to review footage, take home drills you can do on your own , how to properly condition for the sport . A main proponent that I focus on as a coach is how to become the best teammate on and off the court as well.
