I’ve always loved the violin, so I decided to sign my daughter up for lessons with Tatiana—and it’s been a great decision. We’ve already covered the basics like posture and are playing some simple melodies that actually sound really nice (which is a big deal! 😄). Tatiana is super patient and passionate. I definitely recommend her to any parent looking for a great violin teacher.
Beginner training plan
Your first lesson• Getting to know the student: age, personality, musical experience (if any)
• Introduction to posture and instrument setup
Learning how to hold the violin and bow correctly
• First simple exercises: open strings, pizzicato, basic rhythm
• Discussing goals and setting expectations together with the student and/or parents
Lesson 11+ • Progressively moving to more complex pieces and techniques
• Introducing vibrato (when ready), shifting, and articulation
• Developing performance skills and confidence
• Preparing for recitals, exams, or competitions if appropriate
• Focusing on musicality, interpretation, and artistic identity
• Continuing to adjust the approach to match the student’s pace and personality

• Introduction to dynamics, phrasing, and musical expression
