Maria M. Peñaloza is a seasoned violinist, mariachi performer, and music educator with over 25 years of experience in performance and instruction. She holds a Bachelor and Master of Music in Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB, and an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from LBCC. Maria has dedicated her career to enriching communities through music education, working with students across all age groups and abolities. Her teaching experience includes positions with the Long Beach Unified School District, New City Charter School, and Viva Homeschooling Learning Center. She also led music history assemblies for Los Angeles County schools and libraries for over 15 years. She currently coaches the Cabrillo High School Orchestra and Mariachi program. A passionate advocate for culturally relevant music education, Maria is known for her dynamic instruction and student-centered approach. In addition to teaching, she is an active performer and ensemble leader. Maria is currently a member of both the Millennial Orchestra and Mariachi Tapatio de Los Angeles, where she continues to perform and collaborate with fellow musicians across Southern California.
