Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI test the student's natural ability and proficiency to diagnose the level in which they are at so that I may cater the lesson to their strengths. This is done by playing through music at different levels discussing concepts along the way to determine where their intellectual understanding lies.
Lesson 11+They can expect to be playing music that they did not think they could play through. This will boost their confidence and allow them to have a straighter vision to mastery. This is done through exposure of the highest levels of music so that students can exercise their abilities.
Lesson 4-10They can expect to be playing more complex music that involves rhythmic displacement and more complex harmonies to open up their ears. This is done to improve their general musical abilities. I will expose the student to higher levels of musical complexity so that they may see the simplicity in it I will use music they know as tools. Working backwards, students can aurally play the music they favor but then are able to recognize the pedagogical, rhythmic and harmonic concepts on a more intellectual level so that they may transfer it to other styles helping the student become a more well-rounded musician( not just an instrumentalist.
Lesson 2-3They can expect to work on challenging music that will surprise them through their untapped ability to play through it. This is done by exposing students to the innate nature of music already inside them; I demonstrate it to them by using speech (aural) and their natural habits (sensory) like how they sing their favorite songs or how they imitate those around them using their vision ( visual) and ears to pick up inflections, follow direction and fit into a group which is essential in music performance.
