Beginner training plan
Your first lessonA beginner approach involves establishing a foundation to the game. If we first make sure you understand the concept of what you are trying to learn, player development will happen quicker. But above all, the first lesson is about fun. I will make you fall in love with tennis, because at the end of the day the only way to get better is to want to come back over and over.
Lesson 11+Strenuous, condition based lessons, with a shift to baseline practice. By lesson 11 for a beginner, the hope is to be able to maintain a rally and start focusing on match fundamentals such as serve and return.
Lesson 4-10Start more intense drills. Learn to hit on the run, lots of lateral movement. Introduction to different serving grips, and proper use of body weight and higher level technique.
Lesson 2-3Start to explore form that is comfortable for you. Find the forehand grip that suits you, and establish squaring yourself to the ball and proper footwork. If we know how
to set ourselves up for an ideal shot, the process of drilling gets more efficient.
Youth players
Working with kidsA lot more drill and equipment based, set up comes as targets, and offer prizes! Start by teaching a foundation of how the game is played.
What you need to bringPreferably a tennis racket, adequate shoes for lateral movement, water, and a positive attitude!
What I can bringA teaching basket containing a 35 can case of Wilson US open balls, cones, targets and prizes for kids, and extra rackets if need be.
