This plan is designed for a beginner player building consistency, movement, and confidence on the court.
Weekly Schedule
* 3 on-court sessions
* 2 fitness/mobility days
* 1 match or rally day
* 1 rest day
Lesson 2-3Week 1: Fundamentals
Focus
* Grip

On-Court Drills
Forehand & Backhand
* Mini tennis: 10 minutes
* Crosscourt rallying: 20 balls in a row goal
* Shadow swings: 25 forehands + 25 backhands
Lesson 4-10* Toss practice only: 50 tosses
* Half-speed serves into service box
Lesson 11+Footwork
* Split-step practice
* Side shuffles baseline to sideline
* Ladder drills or cone movement
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working kids it’s very important to encourage them and make it fun.
Working with teenagersWhen coaching and teaching teenagers I like to treat them like an athlete not a little kid. I am able to get great results with positive encouragement and praise.
