About your tennis coach
Started young and never stopped loving Tennis. Competed at # 1 in school teams. Graduated Cornell University with major in Club Mgmt. Directed Woodbury Racquet Club major teaching academy and outstanding Summer Tennis Camp . Owner/ director of Tennis club at Old Fields , a top Tournament host club on Long Island, NY I hired and developed academy lesson plans for hundreds of teaching pros for our thousands of students for over 25 years. Competed locally and became the top Singles & Doubles player at 4 Clubs . Captained and played on numerous USTA Leagues, winning matches up to the National Level Most memorable Match: Playing against John McEnroe and winning some games ! After my NY clubs were sold , I moved to Naples FL and started coaching all level and age students.. I hope to meet you and your family soon . I've been playing mixed doubles with Todd Mann for fifteen years. He's given both me and my husband many tips on our game, both our strokes and strategy. He's always positive and encouraging, and is an excellent player. I'd definitely recommend him as a tennis pro.

Extremely engaging and fun! Makes you work hard, but also teaches you about strategy throughout the lesson. Whether it’s a 1x1 or a lesson with my husband, we always learn a ton and have a great time

Novice player here. I have been taking lessons in NYC, and wanted to keep up my momentum while vacationing in Naples. I am so glad I found Todd Mann. Great instruction. Great communication. Easy to schedule with. I highly recommend Todd, and look forward to scheduling additional lessons with Todd next time I am in Naples.

I was fortunate enough to land a tennis lesson with trainer Todd Mann from Naples, FLA when I was down there visiting a good friend in November. I feel that I learned more in one hour from his instruction than I had in multiple classes a few years back. He provided key techniques for all the basics—grip, forehand, backhand, volley, and serve that I had never fully understood before. Each element was explained so clearly that I was able to grasp what was needed and accomplish it. He was also so encouraging

Your first lessonGet comfortable with tennis.
Racquet, grips , court layout,
And of course hitting plenty of ground strokes ie, Forehands
Lesson 11+As we gain competency in these basic shots, it is time to learn spin variations, and specialty shots .
Ever notice that the top pros never stop their coaching to improve technique or add new shots to their arsenal ? So will we,
Tennis is the ultimate life long sport.
Lesson 4-10Learning to hit balls that are over our heads is next. This will lead us to introducing the Serve.
Both the hardest and easiest of all the shots ?? Now we can work on point play and scoring.
Soon we work on basic strategy.
Lesson 2-3A little review, grips ,forehands
and then on to that pesky 2 handed backhand.
We soon get to playing in the front of the court where we introduce the Volley ( balls hit before they bounce).

Lesson 4-10Continue working on the various stroke and strategies to bring the players game up .
We understand we must strive for consistency on our weaker shots and go for point ending winners as opportunities evolve.
Lesson 2-3Choose the most critical challenge for the student to address: Consistency , Stroke technique, Tactical point play. Then drill shots and points to address those challenges.
Youth players
Working with kidsChildren as young as 5-6 can enjoy scaled down tennis.
Short racquets , low bounce balls help these under 10 year students find fun and success on the court with me.

Working with teenagersSome teenagers have fully developed eye hand coordination and will want to be pushed into more competitive drills and games.
Other teens have had limited involvement with ball sports but understand that tennis can also be a great hobby and way to enjoy the need for exercise in their fast approaching adult lives.
What you need to bringStudents must have safe hard court sneakers.
Bring a beverage , sunglasses.
A hat or visor and a small hand towel too !
