First, we’ll learn the basics of tennis in a fun and relaxed way. We’ll cover the grip, ready position, stance, and how to hit simple forehands and backhands. I’ll also introduce the rules, scoring, and basic court positioning so you feel comfortable on the court. We’ll use easy drills like close-distance rallies, hand-fed balls, and target practice to help you build confidence from the start.
Now we’ll focus on improving your control, consistency, and confidence during real points. We’ll practice longer rallies, volleys, serves, returns, and simple strategies like where to place the ball and how to move your opponent. We’ll also start playing fun point-based games so you can learn how to compete. By lesson 10, the goal is for you to rally, serve, keep score, and enjoy playing real tennis.
Next, we’ll build on your first skills by improving your forehand and backhand, practicing basic footwork, and starting the serve step by step. We’ll focus on making clean contact with the ball and learning how to recover after each shot. I’ll use drills like cross-court rallies, hit-and-recover, and serve target practice to help you become more consistent while still having fun.
