Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIf they have no experience, I will first get them used to just catching the ball and using crossover steps so they get used to moving around and develop hand eye coordination. I will then hand feed balls after I show them how to hit.
Lesson 11+I would do whatever I see fit and what they would like to work on.
Lesson 4-10During the 4th-10th drill, I would have them rally with me back and forth and also have them move around trying to get them to the ball. For the serve, I would have them practice tossing the ball for a serve, and then practice the serving motion. After that, I would have them just tap the ball in using the serving motion so they get used to it.
Lesson 2-3During the 2nd and 3rd lessons, I will continue footwork drills using the crossover step and and have them step into the ball while hitting. I would also them do the spider drill every lesson.

About your tennis coach

I am 21 years old. I have been playing since I was 7 and have been coaching private tennis lessons for 3 years. I have also been coaching under other coaches simultaneously. I have a very hands on approach while teaching and emphasise footwork and fitness the most. Moreover, if I give you certain exercises to do, I usually do them with you because my motto is: If I can do it, so can you. Lastly, I strive to become a better player and coach every day.
