Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI will first ask if my student has played tennis before and what goals they want to reach in their game! I will assess my student by feeding a few balls from the net on their forehand and backhand side to get a foundation on where we need to start. Once I find my students foundation I will then make a game plan for the next future lessons! However, during my first lesson, especially for beginner level students, I like to start off with the basics of a forehand first, if my student is not sure where they want to start first.
Youth players
Working with kidsMy last job was solely working with children 12 and under, so with students this young, I provided lots of fun footwork drills and games incorporated with learning each tennis stroke.
Working with teenagersWith teenagers, depending on their skill level, I like to mix up my lessons with them, such as feeding balls from the net type of drills to hitting back and forth with them, like playing points or drills that involve two players to make it more realistic. I like to teach them more in depth points about the game itself, especially if they are competing in high school tennis or weekend competitions.
