Samy Messi is an international tennis coach previously in charge of one of the most famous tennis clubs in the world, The Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club, located in the UK. The Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1879. It produced the first regulated lawn tennis game in 1877, which is now known as Wimbledon. Wimbledon is home to the first ever tennis Grand Slam major tournament. There are 5 key pillars in tennis that Samy has established in his training with players. Psychology, Fitness, Tactical Training, Technique, and Nutrition. He strongly believes that by following his method tennis players will become the best in the game. Each player is unique and Samy understands this critical element to their performance. Samy started giving me private tennis lessons when I was in middle school struggling to find a proper coach. He guided me to obtain proper technique, form, and regain my love for the sport. Finding a coach who creates a program that suits your personal needs is very difficult, but Samy always cooperated with me. He was a huge tennis role model for me along with personal role model. I am now captain of the club tennis team at Arizona state university. As a 21 yr old senior in college, I still hear his voice in my head before I serve telling me to “trust my game and play for fun”.

When I met Samy I thought he was ordinary, just another coach. As I started to get to know him and his teaching, I became very fond of him. I could tell him anything without being judged or negatively put down. Soon we started working together everyday rather than once a week. His knowledge of life and tennis is incredible. I recently had a personal issue that was putting a halt on my happiness and tennis career: I had mentally quit tennis and no longer wanted to play. Samy was the only one who kept me in tennis and this is how he did it: We sat on the court without hitting a ball and just talking... He helped and inspired me to stand up to the issue.
