Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroduce basic tennis skills, including grip, stance, footwork, and fundamental strokes (forehand and backhand).
Lesson 11+Mini-Game (10 minutes)
1. **Target Practice**:
- Set up cones or targets on the opposite side of the court.
- Students take turns trying to hit the targets with forehand and backhand shots (3 tries)
- Encourage students to practice at home or play casually with friends.
Lesson 4-10Forehand Stroke Drills (15 minutes)
1. **Demonstration** (2 minutes):
- Show a proper forehand swing, emphasizing follow-through.
2. **Shadow Swings** (3 minutes):
- Practice swings without a ball to focus on motion.
3. **Partner Practice (10 minutes)**:
- Pair up and stand a few feet apart. Alternate hitting forehands back and forth, focusing on grip and follow-through.
#### Backhand Stroke Drills (15 minutes)
1. **Demonstration** (2 minutes):
- Show a proper backhand swing (two-handed and one-handed).
2. **Shadow Swings** (3 minutes):
- Practice swings without a ball to get comfortable with the motion.
3. **Partner Practice (10 minutes)**:
- Switch partners and practice backhands, maintaining proper form.
Lesson 2-31. **Grip Explanation**:
- **Eastern Grip**: Show students how to hold the racket with the base knuckle on the third bevel.
- **Continental Grip**: Useful for serves and volleys, with the base knuckle on the second bevel.
2. **Stance**:
- **Ready Position**: Feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, racket in front.
