The first lesson is all about making the player feel comfortable, having fun, and building confidence. We’ll start with introductions and simple hand-eye coordination activities before learning the basics of grip, ready position, forehand, and backhand technique. Through easy, engaging drills, players will begin developing ball control and making consistent contact. We’ll finish with a fun tennis activity that lets the player experience hitting the ball and enjoying the game. My goal is to make every beginner feel welcome and excited to come back.
We’ll build on the fundamentals introduced in the first lesson, focusing on consistent contact, forehand and backhand technique, footwork, and balance. Players will work through beginner-friendly drills using targets and repetition to develop control and confidence. We’ll also introduce serving basics, rallying, and simple scoring when appropriate. Each lesson will include fun challenges that make improvement rewarding while keeping the experience relaxed and encouraging.
These lessons focus on turning basic skills into dependable tennis fundamentals. We’ll work on groundstroke consistency, directional control, movement, volleys, serves, and returning serves through structured tennis drills and point-based games. As skills improve, we’ll introduce strategy, shot selection, and court positioning. Players will gradually progress into cooperative rallies, practice points, and short matches so they can apply what they’ve learned in a competitive but supportive environment.
